Understand the Story
We follow up when information is missing or inconsistent and gather the context needed to evaluate the application fairly.
We bring design knowledge, documentation, and practical guidance to homeowners rebuilding after disaster — while paid professional work helps sustain our pro bono mission.
You do not need to have everything figured out. We will review your situation and help identify the next practical step.
NW Rebuild Project grew from a simple observation: after a disaster, families often need more than encouragement. They need drawings, decisions, documentation, and someone willing to help make the next step understandable.
Since 2020, our organization has brought together design professionals, technical contributors, volunteers, and community supporters to help disaster-affected homeowners move from loss toward a practical rebuild plan. Our work has expanded through completed family rebuilds, community fundraising, professional partnerships, and a growing network of people who believe technical knowledge should be used for public good.
Every project is different, but our process gives families a clear path through the decisions ahead.
Tell us what happened and what kind of help would make the biggest difference.
We learn about the property, site conditions, resources, and rebuilding goals.
We document existing conditions and identify the decisions that shape the design.
Our contributors create drawings and construction documents around the family’s needs.
We help organize the information needed for permitting and the next phase of work.
We stay connected where we can and point families toward useful resources and partners.
The short overview above is only the map. The work itself includes clarification, resource alignment, site capture, client reviews, design development, permitting, contractor selection, construction administration, and long-term record keeping.
We follow up when information is missing or inconsistent and gather the context needed to evaluate the application fairly.
We explain the decision, identify resources, and remain available for general rebuild questions.
Selected projects receive a site visit with photos, complete site measurements, and elevation information brought into the design program.
We work through quality-of-life, ADA, aging-in-place, special-needs, and resilience features together.
We create efficient construction documents, support permitting, and help you use the set to seek contractor bids.
We answer questions, document changes, review progress photographs, and preserve records that may help with future repairs.
After move-in we celebrate with you, welcome you into the client alumni community, and retain documents for future needs.
